About Payton

Music has always been a part of Payton’s life, with her parents saying she was singing as soon as she was able to talk. Born in 2008, Payton started voice lessons at age 7 and was soon singing the national anthem around town. At 9 years old, she started learning how to write songs and performed an original tune on the Dosey Doe Big Barn stage in The Woodlands, TX. Since then, she’s been a regular at Houston-area venues in Conroe, Montgomery, and Spring, performing original songs and cover tunes. In 2022, she was one of the youngest ever to attend a songwriting retreat in Memphis put on by award-winning singer-songwriter Grace Askew. There, she learned new writing techniques, co-wrote with seasoned artists, and recorded the songs in the Sam Phillips Recording Services Studio. Also in 2022, Payton released her first EP that included three original songs. A high school freshman for the 2023-24 school year, Payton is active in track and the school’s worship team. She also likes to fish and hunt.

With a supportive network of family and friends, Payton wants to share her music with the world. She particularly hopes to be an inspiration to other young artists, encouraging them to keep working and especially be kind to everyone. Guided by an unshakeable faith in God, Payton wants to lift up other musicians and allow His light to shine through her so she can help others through their dark times.

Payton’s giving heart and sassy attitude combine for captivating stage performances and original songs that whisper to your innermost thoughts. See her around the Houston, D/FW and Hill Country areas now and watch for her at even bigger venues in the future.
